Description

This recently renovated two-bedroom, has been decorated with contemporary furnishings and original artwork, creating an uncluttered and comfortable home away from home for up to 6 Lucky guests (maximum four adults and two children per Savannah STVR regulations).

The main entrance opens into the dining room with a table that sits six set against a wall of shelves featuring board games and books to entertain your group. Just down a short hallway is the open living space, which incorporates the kitchen, with its new stainless steel appliances and recessed bead board ceiling, and a breakfast bar. Sliding glass doors lead out to the private, brick-paved patio, where you can relax in the shade of the landscaped greenery and pergola overhead, enjoying the sweet smell of Southern jasmine, as you dine al fresco.

Upstairs you’ll find two serene bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed with luxurious memory foam mattress. The shared bathroom has a combined tub and shower. Both bedrooms have ample closet space.

Located just three blocks from iconic Forsyth Park, you’ll love strolling through the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays, or one of many festivals hosted there throughout the year. You’ll be just down the street from the only full service beer, wine and spirit shop and full-size grocery store in downtown Savannah.

Home was immaculately clean
Only had a small problem with check in but was resolved very rapidly. You may need to park up to a block away but it is not bad. The home is very close and an easy walk to the heart of the historic district. Would stay again.

The houseworked well for us but lacked a few items tha would have made it work better: A drainboard and rack, teaspoons, some detergent for the washing machine (who wants to buy a whole box for a week's stay?) a serrated knife for cutting bread. Our disposal stopped working and Lucky Savanna had a competent plumber out quickly to repair it.

This house was in a good location in the Historical area of Savannah. It was clean and well appointed.
In fact everything seemed new. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend, in fact, I already have. I hope to get back to Savannah and stay here again. We enjoyed the Hop on/Hop Off bus. We liked Pizza at Vinnie Van Go Go's, ice cream at Leopold's, fish at the Crab Shack, and dinner at The Vault Kitchen. We also liked coffee at Foxy Loxy and the adjoining book store. We enjoyed the Owens-Thomas home, Fort Pulaski, the Telfair Art Museum, the SCAD Museum of Art, Jepson Center for the Arts, etc. We shopped at the museum stores, the Book Lady, Antique shops. We found more than enough enjoyable places to enjoy in Savannah.

The rental property is beautiful but It is located a pretty good distance away from everything. The walks were very long!
The rental does not allow for adjusting the thermostat below 74 degrees. Sleeping was pretty miserable because it was so hot. The mattresses also seem very old and were uncomfortable so those definitely need replaced. Also, you are given one wash cloth per person. We would have appreciated at least two for our four night stay!

The rental was very clean and had a great layout. We loved the location to all the shops and historical sites. The only issue we had was the thermostat was locked and you couldn’t go below 74 degrees which was a bit uncomfortable.

My husband, two sons and I all found Writer’s Repose to be a wonderful home base for our week of relaxing and exploring Savannah. The proximity to Forsyth Square is ideal. The home is clean with a really good layout. It appears to have been recently renovated, which was quite well done. The enclosed patio is really sweet. Such a lovely spot to enjoy our morning coffee and pastry. Free on-street parking was easy to find close to the home as well.

We had the pleasure of staying at Writers Repose for a week and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The home is located in a beautiful area and within walking distance to Forsyth Park and the downtown area. A liquor store and supermarket are also nearby. We had no problem parking near the house. We appreciated the comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. The patio was lovely surrounded by lights that came on at night. The air conditioning was also great. I would highly recommend this home for your stay in Savannah.

We loved our stay at Writer's Repose. It was the perfect space for us to feel at home on our visit to Savannah and an ideal jumping off point for walks downtown to the river, around Forsyth Park and through all of the amazing historic streets in Savannah. It was and easy trip to head out to Tybee for the day as well. Updated and comfortable, large rooms, lost of closet space, super comfy beds and so clean. There is a package store down the block and a grocery store .3 miles away. Check in/out was a breeze and property management was super helpful. It was easy to love being at Writer's Repose!

This was our 1st time visiting Savannah and we absolutely loved it!! We had a wonderful time. The rental was our home away from home. It was cozy, well kept and very clean. We loved the large bedrooms and the quaint back terrace. We liked that it is within walking distance to Forsyth park and a few other spots. The only downfall was that there are no tv's in the bedrooms. I think it would be good to add a tv in each bedroom.

We had a great time at this property. It was very clean. I appreciated the hard flooring throughout the home. That always makes a place feel so clean - no yucky carpet!

The beds were very nice and comfortable, the linens were luxurious, and there were lots of pillows. The entire home is very cute. They have done a nice job renovating the place. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio. It is very private and charming.

The location of the home is pretty good, although expect to do some walking. Most of our tours and attractions were about a 15-minute walk from the house. Forsyth park is quite close. And there is a Kroger, a Dollar Tree, a liquor store, and a cute little coffee shop close by.

One thing to note is that there are a couple of tripping hazards on the floor. One in particular really concerned us, as it is right at the top of the stairs. The flooring level bumps down just a little bit a few inches from the first stair. It caused some unsteadiness as we approached and I was really worried my vision-impaired husband might fall down the stairs. But we were very, very cautious and reached out for the railing before reaching the floor anomaly and took our time going down the stairs. So luckily, we had no accidents. The home might not be the best choice for those with little kids, the elderly, or disabled people. There are a lot of stairs in the home, so be aware of that.

The other thing to note is that although their welcome book said we could adjust the temperature within a small range, we weren't able to make any adjustment at all. The temperature was quite comfortable during the day. But at night, it was too hot for our tastes. Even with the ceiling fans going, we were pretty hot and sweaty. We tried opening windows, but just couldn't get proper airflow. It's a shame, since the beds are so nice. By the end of the trip, we were starting to adjust to sleeping so hot. And I wouldn't let that stop me from renting the place, since ev

This vacation rental was very cute and extremely clean! The beds were so comfy and the house had things you would need as far as everyday life. The enclosed patio was an extremely nice extra to have. It is about a 15 min walk to the more entertaining part of town so keep that in mind. All in all we would love to stay here again. The house was beautiful and modern

The house was lovely! The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. The private courtyard was so nice. The location was perfect for walking to all of our areas of interest. Savannah is a beautiful city! The only drawback was that the cleaning service could have done a better job. The shutters and other wood trim were quite dusty, and the area surrounding the tub had some mildew. I would definitely recommend this home to friends who might visit Savannah.

This was our family first time visiting Savannah and through our online research and looking for a place that would accommodate three teenagers myself and my wife we looked to rent a condo and cane across Lucky Savannah. Based on the reviews we chose to go with them and rented the writers Repose on Gaston street that everyone we told while there said that is a beautiful street you are staying on! And it was the Comp was nice decorated and very clean and comfortable, we felt very safe slept good st night and could walk to a lot of the most desirable places to visit in the historic downtown Savannah area. We already know we will be back and when we do we be looking to Luck Savannah for our accommodations as far as where to stay!

Upon our arrival, opened the door and smiled! The home was very open and well lit. The kitchen was just the right size. The beds were very nice and comfy. The back porch was amazing! We used the grill several times, what a nice convenient surprise as well. My kids had the best time and were very well rested each day. I will definitely be returning to this home! To celebrate my sister's 60th birthday, I flew from Texas, my sister (from West Virginia) and her best friend (from Ohio) drove, and we all met up in Savannah. None of us had been to Savannah before. It is a beautiful, charming city, with incredible history, restaurants, and filled with friendly people. Writers Repose was a perfect fit for the three of us. The house is in a great location. It's an easy walk to a grocery store, a dollar store, Forsyth Park, Clarys Cafe, Mate Factor, Mrs Wilkes...just about anywhere you want to go. When we did drive, we always found parking in front of the house when we returned. The house was very clean, very quiet, decorated beautifully, and just felt like home. There's a great outdoor space that we utilized every time we were at the house. The stairs are a little steep. The beds are extremely comfortable. I felt like I melted into the mattress. If I have a chance to return to Savannah, I would definitely rent Writers Repose again.

We loved this place! It was very comfortable and beautiful. The location in the beautiful historic area put us close to everything we wanted to see. We enjoyed watching Netflix and drinking hot tea after exploring the city. There are many modern architectural elements which were so interesting.

This was a perfect location for our family and was one of our favorite vacation rentals. It is a very easy walk to Forsyth Park and within a mile of other things like shopping on Broughton and the River. We enjoyed being close to everything, but still in a residential area where there wasn't a lot of noise at night. The beds were very comfortable, the place was spotless and the vacation rental company was great. I say the company was great because they did everything electronically through the app and made it incredibly easy. Since we didn't have any problems, we never needed to speak to a person. They sent us everything we needed to check in and out electronically. They also sent us great recommendations for things to do and restaurants. We loved Savannah and hope to be back. If we are, we would definitely stay here again!

From a frequent traveller who stays in a lot of furnished rentals: this property was exceptionally appointed with absolutely everything I needed for my long-stay, including things that I'd normally have to go out and supplement myself. The bedrooms were perfect sizes, and the beds and linens were incredibly comfortable. I used the kitchen all the time and it was perfect for feeling at home away from home... again, well-appointed with everything you need if you're someone who cooks frequently. The little patio was lovely though the weather prevented me from using it as much as I'd have liked. The neighborhood was the perfect distance away from the throngs of downtown but close enough to feel you're in the heart of the historical district without being overrun. A close walk to everything that you'd want - cafes, restaurants, the park - I loved this place.

We really enjoyed our stay in this home in Savannah. The location was very good. My only suggestion would be for the owners to place runners down the stairs, as the wooden steps were a slippery and a little steep. My 80 year old mother had trouble climbing them.

This unit was almost perfect. Great location in walking distance to grocery store, parks/squares and restaurants. Looks like the unit had a fresh remodel with excellent attention to detail minus a couple of small recommendations. With two bedrooms upstairs, anyone taking the third bed downstairs (pull-out sofabed) could use some drapes or curtain over the sliding glass door to keep the outside lights from disturbing sleep. Sofabed was verycomfortabe. We enjoyed our stay!

We’ve loved the accommodation! Was located very near historic downtown. Place was cosy, clean, well equipped. Nice for two couples, as two kingside beds. Managed to park in front of the house. Parking is free, you can park in front Tuesday nights. Would happily stay there again.

My family and I stayed at the Writer's Repose 3/11-3/14. This cozy condo sits on a tree-lined street in the heart of the historic district and is a short walk to Forsyth Park. (There's a newly opened restaurant there and a really nice Farmer's Market). There are tons of cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the unit. The River Walk is only a few minutes away by car. The condo was super clean (except for the red sofa in the sitting room. A slipcover could take care of that). I'd checked what previous visitors had to say about parking before I booked this unit. What we found was if we went out for dinner, there wouldn't be a space to park on the street when we returned.
That being said, the location of the Writer's Repose was excellent! The space itself was clean and quaint. My only complaint is that there are lots of little tripping hazards inside as there are lots of little steps. The first step upstairs is a little wonky, and there's no handrail upon entering the front door, as a result, I didn't feel this unit would not be a good choice for couples with young children or people with mobility issues.

My son and I booked this last minute to get away from the COVID-19 craziness. The property is modern chic and has everything we wanted including a full kitchen, washer/dryer and king size beds. The location is perfect for easy walk to the squares, river, dining, etc. Kroger is a few blocks away if you want to cook.

My wife and I have always loved coming to Savannah. We try to make it there two to three times a year, if we are lucky. This was the perfect place for our 4th of July getaway with friends! This place is so clean and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with coffee, clean refrigerator, and island. My mother and I had a wonderful time staying at writer's repose. We were really only at the house to sleep and get ready in the morning so we have nothing to complain about. The king sized beds were super comfortable! The stairs were a bit tricky coming into the front door but nothing to not make us stay there again. If you have mobility issues, I would not choose this place. The location of the house is great. A few blocks from Forsythe Park and about a mile to River Street. Finding street parking in front was never a problem. You could here a little bit of street noise from the side street but nothing that kept us up at night. All in all I would stay here again!

My brother and sister, with spouses, stayed at the Writer's Repose for 2 days and it was perfect. The weather was cool and rainy, but it was eady to get the heat cranked up and the house temp wad perfect. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all our needed amenities. I would caution that there are stairs if you have any disability that would be an issue.

The property was nice, clean, and roomy, the kitchen was well equip for any meal but we only did breakfast only for a few days since there are so many great places to eat. Having the patio was nice but we had a private patio which made it even better. The wifi and cable was great since we did research on my tablet to plot out our daily ventures and late night relaxing, watching TV after hanging out all day long. Only bad thing I can say, we could not stay longer.

Three of us ladies definitely enjoyed our stay here. A very comfortable home, well stocked and furnished. Definitely felt like a home away from home. Very convenient location. Could walk everywhere. Owners provided a binder with info on how to use the technology etc. in the house and info on places to eat, stores etc. located close by plus lots of refrigerator magnets with names of restaurants etc. Very helpful. We used the PediCab one evening when too tired to walk home. A delightful young student drove us home and talked to us during the ride. A great experience.

From the time we arrived until we left it was a very pleasurable experience! The layout of the house and every detail was perfect for our visit. Loved grilling out on the beautiful patio area. Excellent townhouse. Very clean, centrally located to everything. Very easy to find and everything was there for us. I highly recommend using this rental company.

The interior is all updated, simple to keep clean and use, and still stylish and unique. Layout was perfect, large king comfortable beds. Quiet from the road, next door neighbors, and even top and bottom floors. This place could not have been better!

Perfect location, convenient to restaurants, parks, and roads. Parking was easy, and keypad entry makes it quick and easy to enter.

Writer's repose is a lovely rental in a great location! We had the beverage store right at the corner of our street and a short drive to the grocery store. Since we flew, we had to buy everything there. The unit itself was clean and organized and had everything we needed. Fun weekend!!

We had the most fabulous time at Writer's repose, it was beautifully ready for our arrival, well maintained and thought out, elegantly designed and with some basics for cooking such as olive oil - which always makes one feel extra cared for. The beds are sensationally comfortable and what holiday is a success if you cannot sleep. We certainly hope to return to Writer's Repose. Situated in the beautiful victorian district, just paces from old downtown and Forsyth park. We could not have been happier. Thanks to Lucky Savannah and our hosts!

We decided to try downtown Savannah for a long weekend. This was the perfect location....close to the park and within walking distance to the spas, boutiques, and restaurants. The house was decorated nicely with all the updates. The beds were super comfy. Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay in Savannah due to, in large part, Writers Repose. We found the property as described, clean and very comfortable. A mix up during check in was quickly solved by the management team (our fault). We really loved having the little courtyard in back for morning coffee & an evening drink as well as to sit & chat.
Plenty of room for my spouse and I and our 3 twenty somethings. Neighbors were friendly and helpful with any questions and an excellent party store on the corner.
The property is a short stroll from two of the best coffee houses in town and 2 blocks away is the park bustling with walkers, runners, pick up soccer games, farmers market, a band shell & more.
its an easy walk to several restaurants in the area and if you're a walker, it's not too far to get downtown and to the river. All in all, we'd definitely come back.

This was a lovely place to stay. The beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of room. One of us was a night owl and another an early bird. They were happy that they could watch TV downstairs and the other person could not hear it in the bedrooms upstairs. The location was great as well.

My sisters and I had a wonderful getaway! They haven't stopped talking about historic Savannah, the house, the great food, and wonderful excursions or the relaxation we all experienced! I really didn't expect the house to be as comforting as the pictures, and they by no means give the home justice! Your cottage definitely made our private retreat worth it, the comfort in being able to sit up and chat at all hours in our pjs without having return to seperate rooms while access a public hall as in a hotel environment! We're already setting up a couples getaway, and Lucky Savannah is where will be searching!

The property is faithfully represented in the pictures and description. Lucky Savannah ́s managament was very proffesional. We had a problem with the washing machine and they send someone to repair it within the half our of our call. Would definitely stay again in this property.

Without any doubt one of the best properties we've rented. Pictures were completely accurate with the porpoerty; spotless place, all basic necessities were fulfilled and location could not be better! Highly recommended!!

The Writer's Repose was a wonderful, homey, place to stay. It was beautifully decorated with many pictures of local scenery. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It's location in the historic district made it easy to walk around Savannah. We only wish we had more time to spend in the rental. We had a wonderful time & hope to come back!

This property was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and well equipped. It was also convenient to everywhere we wanted to drive and walk in historic Savannah and surrounding areas like Tybee Island. Perfect as a base of operations and a place to come back and relax.

We loved this property! We parked our car and didn't need it until we left for the airport. The home was clean, comfortable, quiet, and quaint. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies, extra pillows, shower supplies, games, etc. The property was exactly as described. No surprises. The outside patio was lovely. We enjoyed Savannah - town squares, parks, shops, tours, coffee shops and restaurants (gluten-free and vegetarian friendly)! It was fun to go out and explore the city each day. We highly recommend Savannah and this property!

Pictures were as described. Beautiful house on a quiet street. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of towels. Extremely easy check-in and check-out. About a 20 minute walk to the city market and river walk - never felt unsafe and we loved taking different routes to explore new streets and squares. Would absolutely stay here again and are looking forward to our next visit to Savannah.
