The Davenport Main

This historic Savannah Airbnb was an absolute gem and full of character. Perfectly situated for exploring the Historic District and all of Savannah. The space was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. All the charm you'd hope for in a home with this much history. We loved coming back to it each day after wandering the squares, and it made the perfect home base for our stay. Communication with the host was smooth and easy from start to finish. We'd happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah!

We absolutely loved this house. The location is amazing and undersold. The house sits on a corner lot on a gorgeous street, just 2 blocks from Forsyth park and within 1 mile walking to everything. Being close, but not in the heart of the busy areas means the house is quiet during the day and at night, but access is so easy. The house is as depicted in the photos and spacious. The kitchen is very well equipped, the floor to ceiling windows flood the house with light. The bedrooms and bathrooms are *mostly* well furnished. Our teenage girls loved this house too.

Only downsides to the house are these.
Small issues: A/C limited to 70 degrees min. Not a problem for most of our party but I sleep hot and 68 would have been preferable. The back patio is a nice place to relax, but has a lot of ants. 3 of us sat down and within minutes had ants on our feet and legs. This needs to be sprayed. Some areas (bathroom floors, patio area) need a little TLC, but nothing major.
Only major issue: the master bedroom (the bedroom with en suite bath) mattress is beyond firm and is unsleepable. The cobbled streets of Savannah would be more comfortable. I've never slept on a bed more uncomfortable, and after the first night ended up sleeping on the daybed. Oddly, the mattresses in the other two rooms are great. Fix the mattress issues and we'd rent again without hesitation.
