Description

Built in 1842 and having recently completed a full exterior renovation, this beautiful home looks better than ever with fresh paint, new shutters and lovely landscaping! Not only feeling pretty on the outside, the inside is also feeling the love with new air conditioning and humidity controls for the top floors of the home, a new tankless water heater and new large smart TV in the den.

Designed as a southern retreat for its Savannah native, NYC-based owners, the home has been tastefully decorated featuring a mix of modern elements, locally sourced antiques and accessories, as well as custom pieces. Highlights include a super plush Shabby Chic couch in the living room overlooking East Saint Julian, a chic dining room featuring a custom table, fireplace and gorgeous crystal chandelier, and fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a butcher block island. The primary bedroom welcomes you with a Queen size bed, views of River Street fireworks, a flat-screen TV, and a custom California closet. Adjacent to the master, a family room with large Smart TV and spacious desk easily converts to an additional bedroom with a Queen sleeper sofa. The top floor of the house boasts views of the Cathedral and the twinkling Talmadge bridge at night and features three original Jack Leigh prints, the famous photographer most known for his photo of the "Bird Girl," which was chosen for the cover of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

The private rear courtyard features a built-in professional gas grill. The perfect spot for visiting with friends and family, dining alfresco, or just relaxing. Please take note, smoking is not allowed on the premises of this home, including the courtyard. The garden apartment, accessed through the picket fence and second private courtyard, includes a King bed and a bonus room with Full bed, and fully-equipped kitchen.

What is parking like for this home?
There's designated parking space in the garage that will fit one small SUV, compact car, or sedan. For larger and additional vehicles, all other parking is on-street metered Monday-Saturday 8AM-8PM.

This house served perfectly as a place for the family to gather while in town for our son's wedding. It is just two blocks from Bay Street. All appliances and rooms have been updated. Having a parking spot available in the garage was very convenient but be forwarned that anything larger than a Ford Fusion will probably not fit - and even that was nerve-wracking pulling in and out of the garage. We were a short 5-10 minute walk from just about anywhere along Broughton or Bay Streets. Having the courtyard in back is great. The check-in is all self-serve thru the company's app - but be sure to download the Hospitality app. There is nothing called Lucky Savannah and it took emails to the company to get the correct app.

Our family had a perfect 3 day weekend gathering in this fabulous house. The home is well suited for a group or large family . The layout allowed for everyone to have very private comfortable accommodations for sleeping. Best nights sleep I’ve had in a while . The home was so well furnished with everything we needed to prepare multiple family meals. Perfect location and a very quiet neighborhood . I hope we will be able to return to this well decorated , very comfortable property . The efforts of the property owners to restore and maintain a top notch property was very evident .

This house was beautiful and perfect for a girls weekend away. There was plenty of space, and it was clean and well maintained. Communication was excellent both before and during our stay. Could not recommend enough!

This house is GORGEOUS. It accommodated 6 couples VERY comfortably. THE best location in town. 10 minutes walking to EVERYWHERE we wanted to be. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Savannah.

We loved the house and the appointments available were sufficient..lots of kitchen items, bathroom etc. We were there for my son's wedding and the extra den area on 2nd level was awesome for the babies to play and spread out and play. Great location and charming decor. I liked the mix of old and modern decor. We had a few issues with a couple of things not working..1 in main house and 2 things in garden apt. They were responsive and fixed it, although the same thing happened again in garden apt.the 2nd night. Overall a very good experience though.

We were in Savannah for a family girls trip. This house was beautifully maintained and decorated.. We had nine woman and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The only issue we had, was the ice maker didn't work. This house was in a great location. Since we didn't cook, we walked all over the historic district for meals, shopping, sightseeing.. When we couldn't locate the keys for the lower level, Lucky Savannah had someone over within five minutes.. We had a wonderful long weekend and when we come back to Savannah, we will most certainly use Lucky Savannah again...

This is a gorgeous home in one of the best Savannah neighborhoods. Easy walk to many fabulous restaurants, coffee shops and parks. We had a wonderful stay and would certainly return.

Overall, our experience was good. It got off to a rough start, though. We did not receive the access code for the main house as expected which meant that I had to call for it en route from the airport. I was told that it was the same as the garden apt. code (which we had). This was not the case. We waited a fair amount of time before things were sorted out once we got to the house. Secondly, we were not able to park our rental car in the garage as anticipated. I would hope that for the future it could be made more clear in the description that a compact car is needed to utilize the garage. When you are renting a larger home most people will not have a compact car. It created quite a bit of hassle with street parking in terms of keeping the car on the correct side of the street, finding a spot, and needing to pay extra for parking. We were also dismayed to find that the quota of one roll of toilet paper, one dishwasher tab, etc. was not entirely true. We went ahead and purchased ahead of time with delivery made just after we arrived. Never needed those items... Beyond those hiccups, we found the home lovely. Room to spread out as well as congregate. Fun to stay in a home built in 1842 and wonder about who had been there before. Clean, well maintained. Super convenient location and easy to walk to most anywhere.

This was the perfect house for our group of 4 couples celebrating my wife's birthday in Savannah. The location is great, on the quite side of downtown but walking distance to everything. The house is great with lots of living space for our group. We originally got the house for five couples but I think that would have been a little much. While the garden unit has two bedrooms, the second is accessed from the first and is only a small room. This unit was amazing for one couple though. In the main house, there are three distinct bedrooms and then a second living room that has a pull out couch. The issue with using it as a bedroom is that it is the only common space with a tv, it also stayed hot in this room. One other thing to not is that the house is on two HVAC units with a thermostat on the bottom and third floor. Once we figured that out, the house was very well cooled for us. Overall a fantastic place to stay and I would recommend it for anyone visiting the area.

We recently rented this home as well as the below garden apartment and it was a beautiful place with all the amenities we needed. We were very comfortable and the location was perfect for us. The large dining room table was a wonderful place for much conversation daily. We were there with family and friends for our son’s wedding and this space allowed for all of us to be together and enjoy each other’s company. There were a couple of minor issues that we dealt with. Not all of the TV’s in the bedrooms were working which was not huge but would have been nice when we retreated to ours rooms for the night. Also, the dryer takes a very long time to dry towels that we had to wash daily and lastly we were not made aware that there is a street sweeper that would be coming through in the early hours of Friday as the small sign on the street was hard to see the night when we came in and we parked in the spaces of that side of the street and four of our vehicles were ticketed a $25 fine. Other than that it was a wonderful stay and we were very pleased. Would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend.

We had a very pleasant stay at the St. Julian House and Garden. The house was beautiful and very clean and in such a great location - close to shopping, restaurants, and church. We were able to walk everywhere! There were a few glitches with the property, but Lucky Savannah was right there and on top of everything. They always responded immediately and were understanding and courteous. We did have to buy parking passes but are promised reimbursement. We definitely enjoyed our stay and may choose that property for a future stay.
