Description

Oglethorpe Square Retreat is located right off of Oglethorpe Square, only one block from Broughton Street, and minutes from the river. This first floor apartment is great for guests that do not wish to compromise location, but desire to remain in a more residential area. The space gleams with natural light, from the large windows in every room, and boasts with historic features such as original hardwood flooring, high ceilings, and restored fireplaces.

Enter into the building with the secure keypad, and head back to your new Home away from Home! Upon entering you'll find the spacious living room, that features an ample amount of comfortable seating, a flat screen television, and large windows that fill the space with natural light. Guests can take advantage of the sofa that converts into a queen size bed, if needed. Off of this space, you'll find the large bathroom with plenty of space to store your belongings, and a shower/tub combination, perfect for soaking the long day away.

Head to the back of the apartment to find the renovated kitchen, that is equipped with all of the modern conveniences one could wish for. From the elevated white granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and fully stocked kitchen, you'll want to prepare home-cooked meals every night! The quaint and charming bistro table can be served as a dining space, workspace, or place to gather for a game of cards!

Tucked away off of the living room, the cozy bedroom awaits! You'll will find a king-size bed, along with a tall wardrobe that can be utilized for all of your belongings.

Situated directly across from Oglethorpe Square, guests are just a few steps away from Savannah attractions such as Owens-Thomas House, Telfair Museum, and the string of local shops and cafes along Broughton Street, Savannah's "Main Street". Walk through the squares with an ice cold beverage from one of the several bars found in City Market, heading towards River Street to see the massive cargo ships sail by at sunset.

What is parking like for this home?
Parking is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 8pm. Guests are encouraged to either purchase a prepaid parking pass at the Savannah Visitor Center, or find a nearby parking garage to store their vehicle in for the remainder of their stay.

The location was fantastic. The décor was fitting and overall comfortable. Only issue we had was how poor the sleeper sofa was. I think it's misleading to advertise the sleeper sofa when it was a paper thin mattress and you slept on the metal bar of the sofa the entire night. It was also very bright sleeping in the living room, so some curtains on the upper windows would be nice. Please invest in a better sleeper sofa.

Oglethorpe Square Retreat is the perfect location. The apartment is well stocked and right down the street from the middle of everything. Short walk to River Street and City Market. The only thing not perfect about this condo is the need for black out blinds in the bedroom. The security lights from next door light up the room. That being said, we would still stay again. We loved it.

A beautiful neighborhood surrounds this apartment building. The SCAD Trustees theatre and eateries all within walking distance. It’s a great little spot, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Pros:
Great location - walkable to everywhere in the historic district while still being quiet in the evenings.
Fast and friendly customer service, smooth check-in/check out process.
Relatively large and roomy, good heating/AC, good water pressure, plenty of hot water, good wifi

Cons:
Old, historic building - Has its charms and some modern touches, but will also be a little creaky and have some damage.
Windows don't have curtains. Lots of sunlight, but no view.
Slightly dirty - Kitchen cabinet handles were sticky, one of the towels had a stain, another towel was left behind the door, dried cranberry on the floor in the corner. Nothing too offensive.

The apartment was cute with Savannah charm. It was in the perfect location. A block away from Leopolds ice cream, shops, a 5 minute walk to the Riverwalk with all the restaurants, shops, activities.
The only recommendation for the owners...we need the shutters over the windows to cover the entire window for more privacy.... was concerned about other apartments being able to see in our bedroom and walking through the living room while getting dressed.
We would definitely stay there again. It was clean and a perfect place to stay.

This is a very cozy apartment and an amazing location right in downtown Savannah. It is walkable to everything and many tours pass by the building. The unit was clean except for I felt the shower could have been cleaner which is why I gave four stars. They also need to put a regular shower curtain with shower curtain liner in the bathtub. The shower curtain liner is shorter than the bathtub so people have had to use the shower curtain inside of the tub and I feel that's really unhygienic as you can see it has turned pink on the bottfrom all the use. Overall the apartment was awesome though. Would stay here again.

Our stay was wonderful here! We had all of the amenities we needed for our week-long stay that made it very comfortable. Also, we didn’t really have to drive much all week because everything was walkable. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfect little apt with a great location! Easy to enter and parking is very easy as well! Only issue is that there is no curtain in the bedroom, so the bright light from the alleyway shines into the room at night. An easy fix, but definitely needs a curtain. The shower curtain is also very cheap and doesn't touch the top of the tub, creating a leaking issue. Also, a very easy fix.

The best thing about this place is the location. It’s walking distance from all the best attractions and restaurants that Savannah has to offer. There is a public parking garage less than a block away. For being in the middle of everything it has a peaceful and charming feel. We slept through the night and wasn’t bothered by any noises of the city. Highly recommend staying here.

Easy access to property via app. Parking garage less than 1/2 a block away...with temporary loading zone in front of facility. Perfect location for walking to restaurants and points of interest. Comfortable unit with ample seating for 3 ppl. Cleaning was not up to my standards...cracker/chip crumbs from previous guests in cabinets. Dirty footprints in bathroom. However, our coffee pot broke in the dishwasher and Management was very prompt at providing a new coffee maker. I would stay here again and definitely recommend Lucky Savannah.

We had the perfect weekend getaway with our stay here! It was walkable distance from all the places we wanted to see and it was a nice and quiet area. We loved having a place to unwind from the day (that wasn’t a hotel) and the kitchen was perfect for cooking a quick meal. I would highly recommend this spot to any friends wanting to explore the historic district in Savannah.

We had a last-minute change of plans that found us heading to Savannah. The staff at Lucky Savannah were very helpful and did their magic to make it possible for us to get right in to a rental within a few hours. We wound up in a unit with air conditioning that wasn’t functioning, so the staff got us into a different unit right away. We were able to let our dog stay in the unit without our presence, and that was very important.
