Centered in the Heart of the Historic District, Modern Retreat is on tree-lined Oglethorpe Avenue, within walking distance of everything Savannah has to offer! After undergoing an extensive renovation, no detail was spared while furnishing this space. Located in the YWCA Building established in 1903, you'll be enriched in history from the moment you step into the building.

Take the elevator or stairs up to the second floor where Modern Retreat awaits your arrival. Boasting with tall ceilings and natural light, each room has been finished with cool tones and comfortable furnishings. The gathering room has an ample amount of seating for your entire party to gather; whether you're watching a movie, playing a card game or preparing for a day of adventure, there is room for everyone! Beyond this space, you'll find the tastefully designed kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances. You'll have everything needed to prepare home cooked, intimate meals and cocktails.

The primary bedroom can be found just past the living room and features a King bed, smart television, and a spacious closet for all of your belongings. Each room features a luxurious an ensuite bathroom with shower/tub combo that have been fully remodeled. Natural light fills the second bedroom, which also features a plush King size bed, a smart television, and a large closet.

You’ll be steps away from the city’s most sought after attractions – bustling River Street, Broughton Street shopping, Telfair Museum, Savannah Theatre, the Cathedral, Forsyth Park and more – are all within easy walking distance.

Parking: Metered Parking
This unit has on-street, metered parking which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm. You have the option of feeding the meter, parking in a nearby parking garage, or buying a parking pass from the Savannah Visitor Center.

We can welcome your dog companions at this pet friendly home, but ask that you find other arrangements for cats, birds, and other furry friends. There is a $130 pet fee (non-refundable) with a 35 lb. maximum weight limit per dog and a limit of 2 dogs per reservation. Some homes may allow larger dogs, please inquire for more information.

The location and comfort of this 2 bed 2 bath is very impressive. We had a wonderful time in town and walked everywhere we wanted to go. The appartment was comfortable for 4 with private baths and a lovely looming living space. Lucky Savannah made the entire transaction easy and enjoyable. We will rent this location again.

This was perfect for us. The size was right, the location was perfect, and we liked how clean and updated it is. We liked the cool old Y building also, it's interesting. This location is the most central we have stayed in Savannah, where Broughton and River street are about 2 blocks away north, and downtown and Forsyth park is a few blocks south. This unit seems larger than it looks in the pics, because what you can't see in the pics is that the ceilings are much higher than expected - they appear to be 12-14 feet high in one of the bedrooms, and the windows are huge. So it feels far larger. The only negative was one of the bedrooms is on Whittaker Street with the window 10 feet from the road, which is noisy all night long with mufflerless vehicles racing down the street or people walking by and yelling.

High quality experience the Lucky Savannah team was professional and helpful. Katrin was excellent with answering any questions we had about the property or area. The rental was clean, nice location, kitchen well stocked and the parking wasn’t as bad as I had imagined. I would suggest more hanging hooks in the bathrooms. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything you could possibly need as well as the perfect location to everything! The decor was inviting and the rooms were very spacious! Not having a code to the front door of the building was a little inconvenient, but I would definitely book that location again!

This is a beautifully renovated space in one of Savannah's many historic buildings. It was barely noticeable within the unit that it was in a historic building in terms of nothing feeling run down. Finishes seemed very high end. Walkable to everything we wanted to do in Savannah! We only stayed two nights but would definitely stay here again next time we visit.

We were two women, college friends from way back when, staying at Modern Retreat. Very cute place that was perfect for us. It was very clean and comfortable. 2 bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Beds were comfortable (I like them on the firm side). Decor was a perfect balance. High ceilings with lots of light, which I love. Nice little kitchen with necessities.
Location was great BUT be aware that this building is 2 blocks from Savannah College of Arts & Design. Thus, our building was mostly occupied by college kids who woke me at 1:30am on Saturday with loud music and talking outside my window (which faced courtyard). Other than that, the location is awesome- easy walking everywhere. The building is older but well-maintained. Windows are sealed shut, so not able to open for fresh air. We loved the historic feel.
It felt like a safe neighborhood and we walked to/from dinner in the dark multiple evenings.
I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Perfect location for a weekend in Savannah. Rental just as pictured, clean and well equipped. Perfect setup for 2 couples with king beds and attached bathrooms. Easy check in and check out. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

We had a great last minute girls' trip to Savannah and were very happy with our experience going through Lucky Savannah and especially with the Modern Retreat! The spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment was spotless, and had nearly everything we needed for a few days away (maybe add a few boxes of tissues!). The huge king size beds were so comfortable, and we loved each having our ensuite bathroom with all the necessary amenities. The living area was comfortable with very tasteful decor, and the kitchen fully equipped and organized (loved the 2 different types of coffee makers!). The owners of this unit have really thought of just about everything needed for a great stay in Savannah! We also loved the location, an easy walk to all of the areas of Savannah a first time visitor would want, safe, and quiet (for the most part - one of the bedrooms had some street noise). One other suggestion is to add some room darkening curtains.

Lucky Savannah staff was so friendly, readily available and helpful...and it was so nice to be able to store our luggage for free in their nearby office since we had an evening flight after checking out. We will definitely book through them again next visit to Savannah!
