Description

Guests looking for a truly local experience will fall in love with Blue on Broughton's historic charm. Nestled in the up-and-coming, East end of Broughton Street, this two-bedroom house built in 1862 is adorned with cast iron details and blue-painted clapboard siding. Inside, a beautifully appointed vacation rental with all the modern amenities expected to make your stay comfortable.

The first floor boasts a converted parlor room with Queen bed, and an adjacent living room, complete with a pull-out Queen sleeper sofa for two additional guests. These guests can use the nearby half bath, making getting ready a breeze. A full kitchen, equipped with every essential you'd need for a home-cooked meal, is just around the corner and has ample storage space for extended stays. A washer/dryer are also inside the home - great for young families!

Upstairs, find two bedrooms with two full baths. The first bedroom features a King size bed, with the second bedroom furnished with a Queen. Both bedrooms have their own dressers, flat screen TVs, and en suite baths.

Park your car in the private lot behind the home and explore Savannah by foot for the remainder of your stay. Blue on Broughton is located on the East end of Broughton Street: Savannah's "main" street scattered with some of the best shopping and dining in town. Most notably, guests are encouraged to stop by local favorites: Capital Bee Co., Hygge Savannah, East End Provisions, and Leopold's Ice Cream.

What is parking like for this home?
Guests receive private parking for 3 vehicles located behind the home, off-street and secure. Additional vehicles can find nearby metered parking on Broughton Street, which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm. Guests can purchase a pre-paid parking pass from the Savannah Visitor's Center to avoid handling the meters.

Our stay in Savannah was absolutely lovely. The only thing I could say is if you need a dark room to sleep in bring an eye mask because no room i. The house gets dark due to all if the flood light surrounding the house. But, the beds are supper comfy and everything is supper clean.

The location is premier! The cleanliness was superb! The space is very nice. The Kitchen is a galley so keep that in mind and the stairs are very very narrow to the upstairs. The kitchen is not stocked but does have essentials for coffee making as it is a drip coffee maker. Had no teaspoons which I thought was unique in silverware drawer. Would be nice to have a more updated coffeemachine to use Kpods,etc instead of having to make a whole pot of coffee. The counter tops in kitchen are easy to get dirty with tile tops that are unique and not smooth but grouted~~ a bit odd counter tops.

We loved staying here! The bathrooms (mainly upstairs toilets) could use some upgrading but honestly we barely noticed because everything was so clean. They provided plenty of towels since there was 6 of us staying there. The decor was adorable and we had the best time!

The unit was nice and open and clean except a couple of the glasses still had lipstick on them and there was opened snack foods left in the cabinets. There is very little cooking pots and pans to use if you want to cook a meal. There was no broom or dustpan in the unit and not enough towels and wash cloths and toilet paper and paper towels for 4 adult women. The beds were comfortable except the sofa bed. The worst experience was getting in and getting out of the back parking area. Very tight and the bush limbs definitely left some scratches on my vehicle.The kitchen and baths could use some updating and the kitchen cabinets are so high you need to be a extremely tall person to reach most items. The best thing we enjoyed about the rental was that it was very close to everything.

Blue on Broughton is in a great location. We were able to walk to coffee shops, restaurants and shops. The house was clean and very comfortable. We loved that we had private parking as a lot of homes don’t. We would definitely come back.

I understand the property is an older home, but the home appears much older than the photographs in the listing, and there are rotten siding boards along the back of the house. It was a good location for exploring the historic districts on foot. The lack of noise insultation, likely due to it being such an old home, made sleep difficult - even in the second story bedrooms you could hear peoples conversations as they walked by not to mention road noise.

There's 2 parts to my review: my experience with Lucky Savannah (LS) as a company and then my rental experience.
We were a group of girls visiting for a bachelorette party, and we actually had a different property selected to stay Fri-Sun. We booked that property more than 6 months in advance and had no issues. 2 weeks before our trip, LS told me that we could no longer stay at that property because it had a minimum 3-night stay. Therefore our 2-night stay was ineligible. This happened AFTER they collected our money and 2 WEEKS before our trip. By then, there was only 1 other available property within our timeframe and budget that allowed 2-night stays: Blue on Broughton. So we had 2 options: take the only available property or have nowhere to stay. That's the situation LS left us with. I will acknowledge that LS offered us a 15% off coupon to be used for our next visit. Also, Blue on Broughton was slightly cheaper per night compared to our 1st choice, so we did receive a slight refund, but that's standard business practice and not something LS did above and beyond to make the situation right.

The property itself everything we needed. It was very clean, had enough space for us to sleep, was nicely decorated, had adequate parking for 3 cars, was in a great location... but it just wasn't the property we chose. And of course there were little things that weren't great. For one, the property isn't open concept, so the 7 of us had a hard time fitting into one room to play games and hangout together without some people sitting on the floor. The pull out couch is not a good sleeping arrangement for >1 night. The street is also very loud and I could hear EVERYTHING happening outside. I.e. a group of girls were talking about Jane Fonda at 3am...

Nonetheless, we had fun during our stay. Savannah is a beautiful city with amazing sights, food, and people and I'd love to come back some day.

The house is very clean and comfortable. The wooden steps are steep, and would require supervision for small children. The parking is tricky and requires a good bit of maneuvering to get suv’s in, but with patience can be done. Its nice not to worry about finding parking downtown, since you can walk everywhere. The Harry Truman expressway is very close to access, and montgomery cross road exit is pretty quick to get to a “super” Kroger for anything you need.

We absolutely loved our stay at Blue on Broughton. The home was clean, mattresses were good, and the location is excellent. Close enough to walk everywhere and far enough to not hear too much noise. There were plenty of towels, cleaning products, and a nice bar area.
Be aware that getting into the parking area is TIGHT. My highlander barely made it. Also there is a large street light directly out the front of the house. This illuminates the bedrooms at night. Some window treatments to block this out would have been nice but certainly not a game changer.
The property management team was excellent--great communication and super easy to work with. Overall, we had an excellent stay.

Very nice, historic home located within walking distance of everything in Savannah. Our only problem was with the TVs that seemed to be locked on one channel and have to many remotes. But let’s be honest, we didn’t go to Savannah to watch TV.

We really enjoyed our stay. The parking is challenging but well worth the effort. The home was clean and tidy. The location allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go and we really liked sitting in Washington Square just one short-block away. Leopolds and Pirate House are close by:)

Bright Broughton was a perfect home base for mine and my sister's family while we were in Savannah for the first time for a wedding. The house is extremely charming and is in a perfect location. We could walk to all the wedding locations and sightseeing spots too. It is located on a main street but a couple of short blocks from the hustle and bustle. Love this place and would definitely stay here again!

A mixed review. The location is convenient. Many of the Savannah tourist spots are walkable from this house. The house was very clean. The property description says that there is parking for 3 cars. No way. The driveway is very hard to get in and out of since it is narrow , bordered by metal posts, and there is a very small turn around area. There were a few lesser issues like missing batteries in the TV remote in master and the kitchen is minimally furnished with cookware and utensils. Fortunately we had brought some of our own. The biggest issue was the difficulty in sleeping. Two of the three bedrooms face the street and it is a main thoroughfare with lot's of traffic noise. Those 2 bedrooms also have blinds but no curtains - there are bright streetlights that shine in those windows all night. The rooms are lit up like daylight.

Great location right in the heart of historic district. Convenient to most restaurants and tourist attractions, even within walking distance to most.
Street is very noisy at night and makes it hard for a good nights sleep. (Recommend bringing a sound machine) If you’re planning on cooking while you stay, bring pans, serving utensils and bakeware.

The location was just out of the way enough to not be crazy loud but still within a reasonable walking distance to so many things. The beds were comfortable. We had all of the basic things we needed for our stay. The only complaints I would have would be about how difficult the driveway was to maneuver, and the sofa bed was quite awful. However, the rest of the stay was great and we would definitely stay again.

We went to Savannah to celebrate my wife's Birthday. This was such a great place. Perfect location to walk to the RiverWalk, Pirates House, Vics on the River, and more.

Coming in the back to park was a bit tight, but once in, there was plenty of room for our 2 cars and I believe another car would have fit.

Place was clean, neat and had 2 1/2 bath. Overall, I would say if you have 4 couples or 3 couples and another person, it is a perfect spot.

Great location, very quiet area, and close to so many things. Very comfortable beds, & a third bedroom downstairs a plus for an older guest. Everything worked, was well designed with quality furnishings. A bonus having parking spaces, but a bit tricky getting in and out. No way our Chevy Silverado would have fit. All in all, great stay, a great value, and would rent again!!

The location of the house was extremely good only used a car one day to Tybee Island. It with that came noise and bright lights through the windows all night. Blackouts would be helpful. But you half to make a choice. I would still choose the confident location. We bought sleep masks which helped a lot and wore ear plugs. Not the kind of place so would expect so much noise. But we made due and loved it. The parking area is extremely tight, once in only finally care can get in and out. Very tight getting down drive without compact car. But we managed it.

We loved staying in this house. It was perfect for our family weekend in Savannah. I would like to point out that the photos of the house are not accurate as far as the 3rd bedroom. The photo shows a "parlor" but it is now a bedroom and the living area is not quite small since it does not open up into the parlor. Also, the downstairs AC unit did not cool as well as the upstairs unit. It never got to the set point (70 degrees). If you are looking for a quiet street, this is not your house. The noise from Broughton Street (even at the far end) was quite loud most of the night. Luckily we brought our sleep machine to drown out most of the noise.

Lucky Savannah rentals were a great experience, the property was clean and exceeded our expectations.

Quiet peaceful location the house was beautifully appointed.
Probably not small children friendly with lots of artistic touches. We really enjoyed our week in Savannah and will come back again. The small drive to the private parking was challenging for our very large SUV but we were able to park a full sized Chevy Suburban with room for a smaller second vehicle with a little maneuvering.

Overall it was for us a place to sleep. We went out for meals and such. Beds were comfie however I would suggest that owner puts up room darkening shades. It was like daytime in our room and it was a restless night.
The next day I immediately bought eye shades!!
Problem solved. The location was close to all the things we like to do in Savannah. Everything was walkable. We had 8 people and we were all happy with our stay.

To begin, we enjoyed our stay. Location ideal, lovely interior appointments, however, The property was a bit “unfinished”.
First, the driveway is horribly narrow-need to warn pp in VRBO description. Midsize cars struggle to fit and the overgrown weeds/bushes make it even smaller(you have to fight to get out the car, navigate through the jungle of weeds and mosquitoes)
As for interior- upstairs both bedrooms need more outlets. The upstairs bathrooms lack counter space hand towel racks and hooks. Bedrooms - a
2nd night stand or floating shelf needed & all bedrooms could use luggage racks to avoid putting suitcases on bed or floor. Master bedroom linens didn’t fit oversized mattress and there was no bed padding (can become unsanitary).
Cleaning staff must remove extra ice after each guest- ice maker was overflowing. The dining room was beautifully decorated( love the round table). Spare folding chairs would allow more than four pp for dining room seating (House sleeps- not seats- 8). Sofa bed uncomfortable. Was there an iron or ironing board?
Though it seems we had complaints, we really love the space. With respect and and constructive advice these corrections will make this home more attractive
and desirable to return again and again!

We have really enjoyed our stay @ Bright Broughton Street Home. Great location with parking, well equipped kitchen, nicely designed living room and good dining space. 2 bedrooms and one master suite - very specious. Definitely recommend.

The home was adequate and within walking distance to everything. We did not cook during our stay, only used the coffee maker and cups. The king size bed in the upstairs bedroom does have an incline due to the floors of an old home being uneven. We ended up sleeping with our head on the end of the bed to counteract the incline. The upstairs AC was not working for the first two nights, but a call to maintenance fixed the problem. Overall, the home is sufficient for a few nights stay and very convenient to anything you might want to do while in Savannah.

This was a clean house inside. No frills. NO outside seating in the backyard. Parking but would fit small cars only. If someone parks in home behind its almost impossible to get out. Dining, kitchen and living areas very small. Fits 4 people fine but 5 was tight, more would be uncomfortable. This is the 5th home we have used and I would chose the other 4 first. Management was responsive but no early or late checkout for this unit.

We loved this rental! It was the perfect location to just park and not drive anywhere in Atlanta because we were able to walk to everything! The beds were super comfy and it had everything we needed for our weekend stay.
