Abe's Abode

We really enjoyed our stay and thought the apartment was such a unique and beautiful place. Staying in a building dating back to the 1700s was incredibly cool, and the apartment itself had so much character. We loved the history of the building and the overall experience of staying somewhere so different.

The one thing I would want future guests to be aware of is the noise from the bar downstairs. The listing does mention that “your soundtrack is nightlife,” but we underestimated what that would mean. From the appearance and history of the tavern, we pictured a quieter, old-town tavern atmosphere. In reality, it is a very lively and popular bar, and during two nights of our stay, the music and crowds continued until 3 a.m.

Because of the age of the building, there really isn’t a sound barrier between the bar and the apartment. On the main level of the apartment, the music and voices come directly through the floor and can feel almost as though the bar is in the room with you. The bedroom on that level was uninhabitable to sleep in while the bar was open. The upstairs level was quieter for the music, although we could still clearly hear people outside on the patio and surrounding the building.

None of this took away from how cool and memorable the apartment itself was, and for someone who enjoys being right in the middle of the nightlife, the location could actually be a huge plus. For quieter travelers or light sleepers, though, I think it’s helpful to know just how lively it can be before booking. We’re not big partiers, so it was definitely more nightlife than we anticipated, but we still really appreciated the character, history, and uniqueness of the property.

We loved the proximity to everything from ice cream at Leopold's to River Street. Having one of the oldest bars in Savannah just below us was amazing. The energy was invigorated.

Great weekend at Abe’s Adobe. 3 couples stayed very comfortably. The beds were phenomenal. We enjoyed the location and it was good walking distance to many great spots. The bar below was also a fun addition. The construction around is really wasn’t a bother and with a sound machine you couldn’t hear much of the bar at bedtime!

Me and 7 others slept comfortably and had a blast downstairs . It’s a historic building so you can hear a lot going on but that made it kind of fun for all of us.

W-O-W, this spot was FUN. Yes, were we above a bar that played music? Of course but it did not stop us from having our fun. We were able to walk to so many restaurants, bars, and grab drinks from Abes on Lincoln below the rental for a pre-game. My friends and I LOVED this spot for our three days of fun in Savannah.

This wonderful property has kept all the charm of a two-century old building while updating the kitchen, bathrooms, & laundry to luxury rental status. This unit is near everything, so no need for a car, and the property management team was a dream to work with (they were even responsive early on a Sunday morning when I had a question). Know before you go: This is above a bar, and you'll feel and hear it until 3 am some nights. This may be a dealbreaker for some, but my guests and I were fine with earplugs & a sound machine.

We had a lovely stay at Abe's Abode. The location was perfect and we appreciated the ample bathroom space for getting ready. Beds were comfortable. We spent some time at the bar downstairs too. If you are a super light sleeper, please note that you can hear the bar pretty clearly but it didn't bother us at all. My only feedback is that the floors in the unit could have been cleaner.

The bar downstairs was just too much. Constant music until 3 am and when the bar closes people go outside and talk for an hour so you can’t sleep until 4 am.

This property was perfect for our group. There were 6 of us, all over the age of 60. The property is a feels like a historic property but all baths and kitchen have been refreshed. Beds were comfortable and, importantly, the A/C worked very well. Sounds from Abe's was noticeable but did not disturb us.

House was in great location, easy to walk around to the main downtown areas of Savannah. Bathroom and bedrooms were a nice layout. House is directly above a dive bar that is very loud in the evenings (DJ playing on the weekends). The rental is an old house so there is not great insulation between the bar and the upstairs. Unfortunately I would not stay here again because of the noise.

This is a lovely property and very conveniently located. We knew it would probably be loud being on top of a bar and it was. We made the most of it, stayed up and partied ourselves...if you want a quiet place snd go to bed before 3-4am then this wouldn’t work. Overall, our whole group loved the property...we are catching up on our sleep now thst we are home.��
