Description

Overlooking Oglethorpe Square, this bright and stately townhouse has two-bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths and is able to accommodate up to six Lucky guests. This property can be combined with the Oglethorpe Square Garden Apartment to accommodate up to eight guests.

The second level entrance brings you into the parlor level, which has a multitude of rich architectural details, including original hardwood floors, twelve-foot ceilings, and decorative fireplaces. On this floor you’ll find the half bathroom, and fully renovated kitchen with marble countertops and a gourmet gas stove. Adjacent to the kitchen is dining room with a convenient buffet. This floor also has a king-sized bedroom, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing a view of Oglethorpe Square.

Upstairs you’ll find the living area, with lots of space to relax and a large flat screen TV. A built-in desk provides a quiet nook for the digital nomad to get some work done before a day of exploring Savannah. The full bathroom has a tub/shower combo, and plenty of counter space to get ready for an evening out. The second bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and lovely built-in bookshelves sure to make any bibliophile envious.

This home is ideally located within a short walk to many of Savannah’s historic points-of-interest and incredible selection of dining options. Try the Conquistador sandwich at Zunzi’s, made famous by the Travel Channel’s Adam Richman. Have a sweet tooth? An evening stroll to Leopold’s Ice Cream is the perfect way to spend any Savannah evening. You’ll be well situated to explore Savannah’s rich history with the Owens Thomas House and the Davenport House Museum both just a block away.

This was the perfect choice for us. We could easily walk to the River and down to Forsyth Park as well. The hardwood floors and exposed brick added to the charm of this home. The parking space behind the home is an added bonus. We will absolutely stay here again!

A quaint historic home refurbished keeping the heart of the home. Walking distance to the river,downtown, etc. A variety of restaurants within walking distance. Lovely garden/patio.

The location is excellent. However, the space is awkward, the entrance is via the back alley and, worst of all, there is a huge ant problem in the kitchen. Couldn’t leave any food out on the counters. I do not recommend.

The location of the property relative to downtown is great. The courtyard and patio isn't upkepted enough to be useful, is shared which I wasn't aware of, and the balcony facing York St isn't accessible. The A/C worked well overall and they provided fans which was great (not all do in Savannah). The master doesn't have direct access to the full bath (on third floor) but it was workable. Last thing was internet. Down the whole time of our stay which could be a huge issue if you had to check in with or stream content for kids.

We enjoyed the very convenient location, from which we could easily walk to all downtown Savannah's attractions. We also enjoyed off-street parking for our vehicle. The rental has great character, with high ceilings, stately furniture, and four fireplaces. There is room for improvement in the light available in the dining room and living room, both of which are interior rooms without windows. There is also a sound issue, as television noise carries up the stairwell from the unit beneath.

This was our first trip to Savannah, so we weren’t exactly familiar with the city’s layout. This location was perfect! We had a vehicle, but because the property was in the historic district, we were able to walk to all the sites, squares, restaurants! It was great! They offer parking in the back, so when we did need the vehicle, it was very convenient.
The house and it’s decor definitely added to the old city charm as well. I’m sure it was quite glorious back in its day! My only comment would be that there are three floors, so if you or your party have issues with stairs just keep that in mind.
We would definitely recommend this location, and will be adding this to our list of favorites when we return!

We love this house. We've stayed here twice. The location is fantastic and the place is great ... but there has been a broken window in the upstairs bedroom since at least January 2021. It's cold in December and cold air comes in through the baseball sized hole. It has to get fixed.

Honestly, this home is in a perfect location to walk and experience all of downtown Savannah. Historic vibes in the home. All positive experience except I will say one flaw is the renters in the lower half of the house can be heard throughout the rest of the rental. But it’s also an old historic home and does not deter from enjoying the rental! Great spot!

This home is perfectly situated in the center of downtown Savannah. You can literally walk everywhere you want to go. Driving into an out of the city is easy. What a great town! Historical parks, cemeteries, and museums abound. On every block you’ll find great restaurants and bars and the river side area is so fun.

The home is very cute with everything you need. We had a blast!

We escaped Hurricane Florence and enjoyed Savannah for several days. House was clean and extremely pet friendly. My only "complaint" is that I would have loved a vacuum instead of a broom to help with my daily cleaning of puppy hair. Loved this place, we'll be back!

Me, My husband and our 2 grown daughters came to Savannah for the Music festival and overall fun in Savannah. The Oglethorpe Main House was a really nice and convenient place to stay. We walked to Cup O Cup for coffee(end of the alley) 2 mornings and enjoyed meeting the owner and other workers. This home is well located and we walked everywhere except the Friday night when we drove to eat at The Crystal Beer Parlor and went to a Concert at the Ships of the Sea Museum.
We had everything we needed in the Unit and enjoyed ourselves so much we hope to come again and stay at the Oglethorpe House. The codes to get in the gate and Kitchen door were easy to use and we really liked the on site parking space.
My husband and I slept on the Queen Size bed and the mattress was not very comfortable, only complaint. The girls shared the King Size bed and they said it was great.
I will recommend this House and Lucky Savannah Rentals to any one coming to stay in Savannah. Thank you!

This was our second time staying at Oglethorpe House. We love the setup, the location, and the parking space. House is maintained adequately. However, amenities are a bit thin. Would have been nice to have a few coffee filters on hand, since many coffee makers take different sizes so not sure which type to bring (fortunately, there's a coffee shop at the end of the block!), and there was pepper but no salt, which is pretty much a basic item, so just plan to bring everything you might need for the kitchen. Also, would be nice if the cable tv package included basics such as ESPN, Food Network, HGTV; these are really standards these days, and are available in even your cheapest hotel rooms. But the bed was comfy, and again - you can't beat the location and parking. Communication from Lucky Savannah was great, and the App for information is a nice touch.

This is a lovely and peaceful property. The home is in a great area. Everything is only a few blocks away.
We were able to park the car and walk the historic streets of Savannah. This was our first stay with Lucky Savannah but it won't be the last. The Lucky Savannah staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We’ve stayed many times with Lucky Savannah and always felt that our stay was nice, but this vacation experience at Oglethorpe Main House was terrible. We checked in on Friday night, noticed that the cable TV and internet was not working. It wasn’t fixed until late Saturday (our check out time was Sunday morning, so more than half our stay was without these advertised amenities). Additional annoyances: The half bath opens directly into the dining room. The home sleeps 6 but we were only offered 2 shampoos, conditioner, and soaps. The sofa had many stains and there was no “parlor” on the parlor main level much less a view of Oglethorpe Square unless you were comfortable peering out the bedroom window. Extremely disappointing since we visit Savannah monthly and would have appreciated a concession regarding the absence of internet connectivity and cable TV.

The house was in the perfect location. Could not have asked for better access to Broughton, Congress and River Sts.
Cons:
The lay out was awkward.
There was someone renting the bottom floor which I was not aware of which means the courtyard was shared. Felt like we had to be quiet all the time.
A couple of light fixtures were falling and the steps to the back door need to be replaced.
The staff were very responsive.

We felt like we had gone back in time to the 1800's in this house, and that's exactly what we wanted. If only those walls could talk! The location was perfect for us and we literally walked everywhere and only drove the car when we went to Tybee Island or to Kroger.

We had a wonderful stay in this downtown home. We walked everywhere leaving our car parked 99% of our stay. There are restaurants and shops in all directions. We could walk to Forsyth Park in one direction or to the Water in the other!

Margaret and I spent January and February in the large unit at Oglethorpe House. The space was comfortable and the unit wonderfully decorated. There was a lot of Savannah charm. The location, in the heart of the Historic District was terrific.
Lucky Savannah staff were helpful. They solved some very midst problems, worked with us on schedule changes and allowed some deliveries to be made to their office.
We will recommend Lucky Savannah to anyone we know visiting Savannah.

My wife, myself, and another couple stayed in the Oglethorpe Main House for 4 nights. We've been to Sav'h many times; this was their first trip. This was one of best stays ever. Park the car once. Walk everywhere. Plenty of room. Comfortable beds. Nice to have laundry facilities, too. Would stay there again.

Enjoyed long weekend in Savannah. House was great location. Couple small issues with the electronic door locks, but the staff of LS was exceptional in correcting them, and had no issues afterwards.

My husband, daughter(20) and parents stayed in Oglethorpe Main Dec 20-23 and had an amazing time! Lucky Savannah was wonderful to work with for our stay. We were able to do all the things on our list and it was wonderful to come back to Oglethorpe after a long day and recharge. The only draw back to this rental was lack of common areas to chat and relax as our daughter was sleeping on the pullout couch. And if sh hadn't, the common area would be on the 3rd floor. Thank you for your warm welcome!

Every time we visit Savannah, we use Lucky Savannah- and always get what we expect: nicely decorated, clean homes in great locations. This year's home was gorgeous and we loved the updated amenities staying in a historic home. It was spotless and easy to access and was in the perfect location on a square.

Great property perfectly located. Only suggestion would be to get a new shower head as the present head is somewhat clogged.
Certainly met expectation. The additional fees for cleaning @$150 and damage fee @$49 both seemed excessive.

We love the particular vacation rental that we use every year. Although we hope to return next year I have to say that I was little bit dissatisfied with the cleandliness .Lucky savannah was was professional and I felt that Our needs were met- this is just an FYI- the paint etc ( main bathroom) and overall place needs a little spruce up I feel-
But- know we had a great time and want to go to the same location next year or sooner.

The home was clean, beautifully furnished, comfortable, and in the perfect location. We were able to walk to all of our destinations, from City Market to the River! The rental company was very helpful in working through confusion regarding the entry to the home, and the communication regarding the rental was outstanding. I would definitely consider staying in this home again, and will refer Lucky Savannah to any friends traveling to the area!

Oglethorpe Main House is conveniently located to everything! Parks, restaurants, River Street. We parked our car and could walk everywhere we needed to go. Very clean inside. We have another graduation to attend in December and will definitely stay here again.

Phenomenal location to enjoy all that Savannah has to offer. The off street parking is a plus. Lucky Savannah was very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend The Pink House for dinner and Gryphon for lunch.

Nice place, great location parking space is a huge plus. Place was a little dirty, one shutter was loose and banged against the window in the wind. Also porch light bulbs were burnt out. Don't understand why they don't clean out the fireplaces its just a dusty mess.

Everything was great for us the only thing I've noticed is the cable channels are very limited we come down from Nashville several times during the year to visit our daughter that works at fox 28 news and we watch a lot of sports could not even get espn nevertheless great place and everyone was very helpful we will be back soon

We were very satisfied with our stay at this property. The property was as described and was well-maintained. We stayed the first week of January when it snowed and was extremely cold. The managers provided fantastic service and informed us about issues such extended cold could cause with heat in the unit. Overall, a wonderful experience at a great property!

Stayed for 4 nights during Music Fest. Great location to walk to all the venues. Lots of great restaurants for any meal of the day nearby. Also, the river front area is very close as well. The rental is on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Set of outside stairs to reach entry door on second floor which has the kitchen, dining, 1 BR and half bath. 2nd floor has living rm, 1 BR and full bath. Quiet location except there was a dog or two in the first floor unit that barked quite a bit during the day. Some wear and tear as it is a historic home. Has off street parking space. Was told we would receive a text when cleaning service had unit ready so we could get in early, but never received said text. Disappointed in that situation.

Olglethorpe Main House was a lovely place to stay as our home base to visit Historic Savannah on foot. Nothing in town was over a 15 min. walk, so we didn't use our car at all except to visit Tybee Island and the Bonaventure Cemetary. We loved the many great dining experiences close by. Vics on the River was our favorite restaurant and Zunzi's was also memorable for lunch outdoors. The property was very clean and had everything we needed to make us feel at home. It also was fun to stay in an older row home that still looked like a Victorian home, but with all the modern conveniences. The bedrooms were lovely, as were the linens. There are a few things that would make this a five star experience - the house needs a bit of TLC. There is a towel rack that is down in the bathroom (it would take 15 min. to fix), a toilet seat with a full crack (unsanitary), a shade is down in the top floor bedroom so they don't match - 1/2 hour job, and the window sill in the bathroom needs attention. Also, it is annoying when the shades don't work. We fixed one, but some couldn't be used because the cords were broken. Finally, the outside courtyard is junky looking and very unappealing with broken shutters and even a bit of trash about.
Lucky Savannah was wonderful to work with - the website and easy directions and suggestions were great!
