Description

Nestled above beautiful oak trees draped in Spanish moss, this second story apartment rests on a quieter side of Savannah's Historic District. This 100+ year old home has been tastefully renovated, is enriched with character, and has been finished with vibrant yet extremely comfortable furnishings.

After entering via secure electronic lock, and heading up to your unit, you'll step right into your new home away from home! Boasting natural light, impressive tall ceilings, and original architectural details such as the original wood flooring and crown molding, you'll be in awe. The historic essence of this charming home is carried throughout with a calming color palette, made up of cool grays and light blues.

You'll find a spacious gathering room, with comfortable seating and a smart television, where you can stream all of your favorite apps. Just at the back of the home you'll find a generous kitchen stocked with everything needed to prepare home cooked meals - you're only a 5 minute walk to Kroger, a full supermarket, that will have everything you'll need! You'll find the beautifully natural lit bedroom, that gleams in from the large windows overlooking the oak trees. You'll find access to an ensuite bathroom, with a standing shower and vanity. Just off of the gathering room, you'll find a private patio that is perfect for an evening glass of wine, morning cup of joe, or even a great space to get some work done!

Just a short walking distance to the heart of downtown, this property is ideal for travelers looking to stay in a tree-lined, quieter residential part of town without sacrificing convenience. Head West and dine at some of the city's best restaurants, like 700 Drayton, Fox & Fig, and Hitch. Guests are about a 15-20 minute walk to the River front, 10-15 to City Market, and a quick 8 minute walk to Forsyth Park.

The hosts of The Whale go above and beyond in hospitality. There are so many amazing attributes about staying The Whale, I don’t know where to start. When you enter into the foyer you are greeted with sweets, flip flops, sunscreen, frisbees, bikes, and guest diary giving advice as to where to go while visiting Savannah. Once you enter into the whale, you are greeted with a bottle of wine, snacks, and a hand written note from the owners. The Whale is furnished with EVERYTHING you would need as if it was your own home. They cover ALL the bases! The Whale is the BEST vacation rental we have ever used because of their sheer thoughtfulness for their tenants needs. Walking from the whale to Forsythe Park and down to River Street is a breeze! I highly recommend staying at The Whale. 10/10! 5 stars! Two thumbs up! Just do it!

The Whale was really the perfect spot for our Spring Break trip. The location was in a quiet neighborhood that allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The interior was spotless and had so many thoughtful touches that we barely needed to shop for anything - but there is a market close by if needed. This property and Lucky Savannah are highly recommended!

This was a truly remarkable VRBO. One of the best I’ve ever stayed in. I was so impressed at the cleanliness and especially the incredible welcome amenities. There were snacks, bottled water, coffee, just a wonderful array of welcome amenities totally unexpected in this day and age of rentals that just wanna make a buck and could care less about your actual comfort. This place is spacious beyond belief, and every detail is attended to I very much hope to stay at this property again on my return visits to Savannah, and would recommend lucky rentals to anyone coming to Savannah. They were completely professional in every interaction.

Well decorated with quality furniture, comfortable, and extremely clean apartment. Loved the special touches with provided snacks/drinks and toiletries that you might have forgotten to bring with you. Keurig and K-cups were also provided. Parking was on the street but there was always plenty available. 15-20 minute walk to heart of downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

Clean and comfortable! The details in the foyer are a wonderful touch. We appreciated the welcome basket was well. The bed was comfortable and the ceiling fans were a wonderful addition. Close to everything we wanted to do, and we enjoyed the park across the street. A couple of things to consider if renting this home, the stairs are very steep which make hauling luggage up and down somewhat tricky. There is also a train that comes through every morning between 6:45-7:15am, the horn blasts for about 20 minutes, we're early risers so this wasn't issue, but if you're looking to sleep in, you'll have trouble. We could also occasionally hear the downstairs guests.
