Nestled beneath beautiful Oak Trees draped in Spanish Moss, this two-story townhome rests on a quieter side of Savannah's Historic District. This 100+ year old home has been tastefully renovated, is enriched with character, and has been finished with vibrant yet extremely comfortable furnishings.

After entering via secure electronic lock, you'll step right into your new home away from home! Boasting with natural light, impressive tall ceilings, and original architectural details such as the original wood flooring and crown molding, you'll be in awe. The open floor plan allows you to move freely throughout the space, yet offers an ample amount of privacy between both floors. The first floor consists of a large gathering room, with a cheery yellow sofa, and a small bistro table overlooking the treelined street. Just beyond, you'll also find the first bedroom that offers a queen adjustable bed, that can raise and lower - what a luxury! While the first bedroom is between the gathering room, and the kitchen, guests can find floor to ceiling room darkening curtains that close off the room to maximize privacy. You'll also find a full-size ensuite bathroom, with a tub shower combination.

Upstairs the historic essence of this charming home is carried throughout this level, with a near identical layout and calming color pallet, made up of cool grays and light blues. Similar to the first level, you'll find a spacious gathering room, and a generous kitchen stocked with everything needed to prepare home cooked meals. The second level features a beautifully natural lit bedroom, that gleams in from the large windows overlooking the oak trees. You'll find access to an ensuite bathroom, with a standing shower and vanity. Just off of the gathering room, you'll find a private patio that is perfect for an evening glass of wine, morning cup of joe, or even a great space to get some work done!

Out back you'll find a whimsical courtyard that everyone will fall in love with - whether you're gathered around for a home cooked meal, a game of cards, or just hanging out, you'll find plenty of comfortable seating beneath the starry sky or glistening sun.

Just a short walking distance to the heart of downtown, this property is ideal for travelers looking to stay in a tree-lined, quieter residential part of town without sacrificing convenience. Head West and dine at some of the city's best restaurants, like 700 Drayton, Fox & Fig, and Hitch. Guests are about a 15-20 minute walk to the River front, 10-15 to City Market, and a quick 8 minute walk to Forsyth Park.

What is parking like for this home?
This unit has free (non-metered), on-street parking right outside the front door. Availability will depend on time of day and season. Our guests have not reported trouble parking near the home, even on the busiest of weekends.

The 4 of us arrived two hours earlier than expected and felt like welcomed guests right from the start. The "apartments" were very nicely decorated, warm and inviting. We have never seen a rental with such nice welcoming gifts: a basket full of bananas, oranges, cookies, wine and other snacks. The frig had water andcoter drinks. The bathroom was supplied with makeup wipes, toothbrushes, band aids and anything we might have forgotten! Everything was clean. We loved sitting on the porches in the evenings. I highly recommend the Whale and the Mermaid and we will return whenever possible. Thanks for a memorable trip!
