Oakview Manor is perfect!
Reviewed on 2024-04-20 by Carmen W. , Bradenton, FL USOakview Manor was perfect for our group of 4 college friends in their 60's. The location was a quiet street with free parking, yet we could walk to anywhere we wanted to go. The house was clean, well furnished had wonderful beds, great air conditioning and we felt safe and comfortable! Management was wonderful, and although we had no issues, they checked on us!
Historic and Comfy Savannah Stay
Reviewed on 2024-04-04 by Melissa R. , Delray Beach, FL USOakview Manor was nicely located in the historic northern section of the city. Restaurants, tours and sqaures were easily accessible on foot and free parking was equally easy on the street. Quiet and comfy. The shabby chic decor wasn't to my taste, but the house was immaculately clean and the beds comfortable. Everything we needed--toiletries, toilet paper, paper towels, basic kitchen supplies, including laundry detergent and coffee! was on hand. The porch could use a table to rest a coffee mug or cocktail glass. One of the bedrooms upstairs had a small porch off of it but without any furniture. Guests should be aware that one of the showers upstairs is a clawfoot tub which is slippery, so not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. Could use a rubber mat in there! Well managed by Lucky Savannah who were easily available by email or phone.

Perfect Location!
Reviewed on 2023-10-26 by Martha H. , Richmond, VA United StatesWe had a wonderful stay at Oakview Manor. The location by Forsyth Park was perfect. We walked to the farmer's market Saturday morning and then enjoyed the Savannah Symphony on Saturday night. We were also within walking distances of shops and restaurants. The property was as described and the layout was great. The seating in the family room was a little tight for 6 adults, but it wasn't a problem. We loved the porches for coffee in the mornings and the kitchen had everything we needed. Lucky Savannah was very responsive to my question about an early arrival. The only thing I would mention for others is that the 2nd bathroom has a clawfoot tub with a shower. If you are traveling with older adults, stepping in and out of that might be difficult. I highly recommend this rental, as well as Lucky Savannah, for your next trip.

There is a note inside about being quiet after 10pm and being inside and not on patios. The neighbor to the right is not very friendly and one evening at 9pm while we were sitting on the porch getting ready to leave, came outside and was very ugly to us. We were a group of 30 and 40 year olds not youngsters, so that was disappointing but he never came back out after that. Great place, would recommend staying here and we would stay again.

Location is the key
Reviewed on 2021-07-04 by Maribeth S. , Wheaton, IL USThe house is located within 2 blocks of Forsyth Park. Very good location to walking most all the popular Savannah areas. We felt safe and the house was in good condition. AC worked well. Our only comment was that the house had limited items for use. One roll of paper towel, only a few rolls of toilet paper, limited towels per room for a weeks stay. As well, no paper plates, napkins or plastic cups. The lighting inside the house is dim---low watt light bulbs, especially in the bathrooms. But the house is well maintained and comfortable. Our coffee pot had been broken when we arrived and we asked to have it replaced. It never was replaced during our stay. Even if it had been we only had a single bag of coffee to use. I have stayed in many VRBO properties where the amenities were much better.
Catching up with friends/family
Reviewed on 2021-06-21 by , Crittenden, KY USThe house was easy to find, near all the action but far enough away to be nice and quiet. The house was very clean. Two items that were a little bit of a disappointment was one the out door furniture was not very comfortable and we could not figure out how to work the fans on the kitchen deck. Also the musty smell in the house said MOLD and caused my Aunt and Uncle to suffer with their allergies.

We did try to reach out to Lucky Savannah twice through the Hospitality App. the way is suggests. We did not hear any response. The bedroom with the porch has a glass paneled door. The curtains and blinds were totally gone from that door and there was no privacy. Anyone in the homes surrounding Oakview Manor on the backside could see right in if they looked. Also, the sleigh bed in the master bedroom sounds like it is going to break in half anytime you move a muscle in the bed! The other issue we had was the sheets on the queen beds would not stay on. It was almost like the sheets were for a double bed. During the night they would come off constantly!
Other than that, the home was great and we enjoyed our Savannah stay immensely.

Great location, lackluster amenities
Reviewed on 2020-10-09 by Garrick V. , Austin, TX United StatesHowever, pretty disappointed with the amenities and state of repair of the property. If you were staying with a group, you'd have a hard time preparing dinners or breakfasts with the kitchen supplies they have. Also, several electrical outlets were pulling out of the wall in water sensitive areas like the kitchen and bathroom, creating a safety concern. For the price-point, they should be competing with at least a 3/4-star property and basic maintenance are table stakes. Lots of paint flakes, super cheap plastic hangers and broken closet racks, etc.
Check-in and out was simple and Lucky Savannah has this well polished. However, I don't think they'd inspected this property in a while given the state of it I'm not sure I'd recommend it until it gets a bit of investment.

Reviewed on 2019-05-29 by Deborah K. , Roswell, GA USFive ladies of a certain age travel regularly as a group. Our trip to Savannah was delightful due in part to the Historic home we stayed in. It had plenty of room for eating and wine drinking - the porch off the kitchen was delightful for coffee. Our only complaint was the limited supply of cookware (no med saucepan? Dishes to heat up leftovers in microwave?) and the old fashioned tub. We all showered because we were unsure we could get in and out of the tub! Delightful location - walking distance to everything we needed to see (except the beach!). A grand time was had by all.

Nice home in good location, but raw sewage problem and slow fix
Reviewed on 2018-08-22 by , United StatesThe next morning, no one arrived. The smell was really bad, so we went out for breakfast so we could also use a toilet at the restaurant. I sent a text to the management company to let them know that they could let the plumber in while we were gone. However, I did not receive a response. I called the office when we were on the way back, around 1 pm, and was told that they were still trying to contact a plumber. When we got back to the property, a different maintenance person was there. Evidently, no one had explained to him what the problem was or that someone had even been there the previous night.
We thus had to explain everything all over again. He then said he was going to have someone contact the owner to see if they had a preferred plumber. We continued to wait most of the afternoon, but he never heard from the owner so he called Roto Rooter. The Roto Rooter guy arrived soon after and finally cleaned out the pipe using a 100-foot professional plumbing snake. The maintenance worker then helped us disinfect everything with bleach and Lysol. This was over 18 hours after we first reported the problem, and over half way through our two-night
We booked the property for two nights. It is a beautiful home, in a great location. However, a few hours after checking in, raw sewage began coming out of the toilet for the half bath on the ground floor. We tried to stem the tide of sewage (my brother was literally scooping out raw sewage to prevent it from overflowing onto the floor) and then called the management office for help. It was already 9 pm, but the office took the call and sent over a maintenance worker. He tried fixing the toilet with a plunger and snake, but determined that it was most likely an issue with the sewer line and that a professional plumber would be needed to fix it. He promised that a plumber would be at the house first thing the next morning and also told us that we should avoid flushing any of the toilets until the plumber came.

The next morning, no one arrived. Reviewed on 2018-04-18 by Cindy M. , Fayetteville, TN United StatesWe stayed at Oakview Manor for a girls weekend getaway. There were three of us, so having three bedrooms was perfect. The shared bathroom has a claw foot tub which was perfect for having a soak, but it was a bit “fussy” for showering. We all used the shower in the master bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the bed linens and towels were of average quality. There were plenty of pillows. We ran low on hand towels so we did a load of towels, but we could have gotten by as there were plenty of bath towels. The living area has a comfy recliner and a not so comfy sofa and one side chair. The HVAC appeared to be very new, but the bedrooms tended to get hot around 1 or 2 am even when the thermostat was set on 72. We did not use the dining room. The kitchen was perfect for 3 or 4 people to eat at the bar. The one big issue with the kitchen was the lack of light. It didn’t appear that the overhead fixture had a bulb out, but there was not enough light to prepare a meal if it was evening or overcast. Breakfast was the only meal we prepared so it wasn’t a show stopper, but it would have been really difficult to see to cook if we had wanted to prepare dinner. The kitchen has above average appliances. It is well stocked with cookware, dishes and glasses. The location is good...close enough to the sites without the crowds and noise. The neighborhood has a mix of vacation rental and resident owned properties. We did not have any problem with the on street parking. We used Uber on several occasions to go to bars and restaurants and paid $6.50 per trip. Overall, this was a good option for us and I would recommend it. The rental transactions were smooth and were handled quickly and professionally.

Great location and house for a Savannah weekend
Reviewed on 2017-08-01 by , Charlotte, NC United StatesThis was a great house a few blocks from Forsyth Park and a 20 minute walk to the main street in town. The house was clean and laid out nicely. It was an overly hot weekend in Savannah and the house had some issues with the bedroom AC but Lucky Savannah was very responsive and helpful in getting fans and temporary AC units to help cool it off while they fixed the AC. Overall, we really enjoyed the location and there was plenty of available parking on the street. The house has all of the cutting and cookware available but there aren't left over spices except for salt & pepper so bring anything else you might need.

Lucky find!
Reviewed on 2017-03-16 by Janice K. , Leesburg, FL United StatesI originally booked hotel rooms for a weekend couples get away and decided to see if any houses were available. What a lucky find to get this house on Tattnall! Perfect for three couples in a very quiet neighborhood. A lovely walk to Forsyth Park and a close stroll to many beautiful streets. The house was perfect for us and we enjoyed gathering in the kitchen in the morning for breakfast and playing games in the dining room at night. We could get to town via car in around 5 minutes and it would have been an easy walk, but the weather was a little uncooperative for that. We always found street parking, but it would have been nice to use the private parking in the rear. Not sure why that was not available. All my communication with the rental company was via email and text and was simple and convenient. We had no problems at all, so no reason to contact them. I would stay here again next time I come and would recommend it to others!

Tattnall Street is an often missed gem among the streets of Savannah, overshadowed by the cobblestones of Jones Street, which Southern Living Magazine dubbed “America’s prettiest street.” This quintessential Southern street will will make you feel like you’re coming home.
You’ll enter into the foyer, which has stairs leading to the second floor, a hallway that leads back to the kitchen, and opens to the living room to your right. Past the living room is the dining room with seating for six. The upgraded kitchen has a convenient island with stools and a breakfast nook. Enjoy your morning coffee in a rocking chair on your private porch just off the kitchen.
Upstairs you’ll find three beautiful bedrooms. The bedroom at the top of the stairs has two twin beds, perfect for families with children. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and its own private porch. These two bedrooms share a bath, which has a wonderful clawfoot tub. The primary bedroom has a queen bed, television, and ensuite bath with a double vanity and huge shower with built-in seating.
Nearby dining favorites include Mrs. Wilkes Dining House, where you’ll find some of the best Southern home cooking in the city, and the Crystal Beer Parlor, Savannah’s oldest restaurant. You’ll also be a short walk from Forsyth Park, Savannah’s largest park and popular location for weddings, music and food festivals.
Why Lucky Savannah Loves this Property:
- There is plenty of non-metered parking surrounding the home, so there's no need to park in a garage or pay parking meters!
- A washer and dryer is conveniently located in the kitchen area.
- Built in 1871, this home has been fully updated to provide all the comforts you’ll need during your stay in Savannah.
What is parking like for this home? Non-metered Parking
This unit has free, on-street parking right outside the front door. Availability will depend on time of day and season. Our guests have not reported trouble parking near the home, even on the busiest of weekends.
