Terrace Level
Reviewed on 2024-03-25 by Diane S. , Alpharetta , GA United StatesGreat spot. Tops floors of this home are amazing but the terrace level was just fine - just no comparison. Still everything was clean and functional. Kitchen was great. The bathtub seems to be painted yellow which at first made me think it was dirty, but it was fine. My only issue is that is not a queen bed - I measured it and compared with my queen bed at home. May want to fix that one the website.

Disappointing
Reviewed on 2022-05-08 by Tracey D. , Wartrace, TN USThe location was perfect! If only the rest of it was. There was a horrible musty smell, like a cross between a dirty gym sock and an old attic. I turned the humidifier on and it almost went away in 24 hrs. Should really leave it on 24/7. Also, internet went out first full day we were there. The motem was in the upstairs apt. Verified it wasn't a comcast issue so couldn't watch Netflix and had to use my cell data for calls/internet. Bed could use an eggshell mattress topper so not so firm. Gave me a back ache. It was clean but the courtyard was filthy. Had to sit on towels. This is more like a $79 Red Roof Inn off the interstate type of place, not a $290 a night place. Very disappointing and would not stay there again. Too many other choices.
Great location and enjoyed our stay
Reviewed on 2022-04-21 by Jennifer W. , Alexandria, KY USGood location just a few blocks from everything. It met our needs as a family of 4. It is a basement unit and there were people above with small children so running and playing was heard. It was tolerable but we have kids. I was slightly disappointed in the outdoor area as it needed some TLC but it is early spring and there had been a lot of rain. We never had a problem finding street parking right in front of our unit. Many things were walkable. I highly suggest downloading the parking app it’s easier to keep payment up and is inexpensive. Overall all the accommodation we needed in a good location.
Love Savannah
Reviewed on 2021-12-23 by , Lackawanna, NY USI had booked a different place on Jones St only to be notified several days in advance of my stay that there were issues with the furnace and I’d have to choose a different rental. The property management co offered 3 other locations and did a good job of communicating and placing me in the Cohen House place. The location was within walking distance of many historical attractions and jones st is lovely even more so with holiday decorations. Check in was easy and the unit was clean inside. The weather was exceptional while we were there and We were able to have morning coffee in the garden. We had no car so we utilized the trolley tours and Uber to get where we couldn’t walk. Highlights were tours of Bonaventure Cemetery and the Garden of Good and Evil house, meandering thru quite a few of the city squares and shopping. collins Quarter was a favorite restaurant along with SavAnnah Coffee and the BBQ restaurant in the river. We were disappointed with City Market - expected more artisan less touristy-and preferred neighborhoods such as the designer district with Asher & Rye.

Maintenance
Reviewed on 2021-04-28 by , Parkland, FL UnknownI liked the house and the location. There were loose tiles in the bathroom that can be a hazard. Also bricks were uneven on back patio backyard, which can be dangerous.
Quiet neighborhood
Reviewed on 2021-03-30 by , Wesley Chapel, FL UnknownThe unit is a long walk to the riverfront if your not in shape. Quiet neighborhood felt safe walking at night. The unit was clean but lacked something’s like Kleenex. How much can a box of Kleenex costs? Also the smoke detector went off at 6 am cause the battery was low. Not happy about that. Maintenance should be replacing those ona scheduled basis. The only bedroom has a regular size bed i. It if your accustomed to sleeping in larger your out of luck so use the sleeper sofa

Second towel rack in bathroom needs to return, as well as the bathroom tile needs to be thoroughly cleaned and repaired. Oven mitts and pot holders are needed. We are glad that the toaster is still there!(we requested it last time we stayed here). Shutter inside was damaged by someone previous to us. Quiet spot in a great location
Reviewed on 2019-05-26 by , Raleigh, NC United StatesI made my reservation through Lucky Savannah rentals. Their team was friendly and accommodating! The location was perfect! The cobblestone streets are quaint and lovely. The residential neighborhood is quiet and located in the middle of the historic district. The Cohen House Garden Apartment is spacious and quiet. There is plenty of room for people to lounge and I loved having a full kitchen. (One tip for the owner: please add a couple of oven mitts for removing hot things from the oven. A few more cooking utensils would also be welcomed.) The AC is a little tricky in the bedroom but with the ceiling fan, it stayed cool. The parking is street parking. You must pay to park between 8AM-5PM daily. My stay overall was good and I appreciated being able to walk everywhere.
Great location
Reviewed on 2019-04-28 by Jim R. , Ft Myers, FL United StatesThe place was located in the historic district. It was close enough to everything but on a very quiet street. We loved how close it was to the crystal beer parlor around the corner. The place was as described, the only negative comment I would have is about the shower tub. The paint is peeling and the shower curtain is too long and potentially a trip/slip hazard. I would stay there again as it was minor.

Nice Rental But Could Use a feImprovements
Reviewed on 2019-03-18 by Tracey M. , Gainesville, FL USThe apartment itself was nice with a newly remodeled kitchen and plenty of space to spread out. It was not nearly as bright as it looked in the pictures but what can you expect from a ground level apartment? We had no internet problems as reported by some earlier reviewers. Just a few things could be improved if I were to rent this property again. First, the bathroom could use a little updating. The tub was peeling and the faucet didn't work that well and there were loose tiles on the floor. A larger mirror over the vanity would have been nice. The bedroom NEEDS NEW FURNITURE!! The bed seemed old and was very uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on the couch our last night there. And the dresser is just junk. We were fighting with drawers the entire time trying to get them to open or close. If you plan on cooking bring everything you need. They only had salt and pepper. And one last thing, more towels! We were only provided with 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel, and 2 wash cloths. We had to do a load of laundry half way through our 4 day trip.
My husband and I stayed at the Cohen House apartment for 4 nights and had a wonderful time! The apartment is in an excellent location on a nice quiet and absolutely beautiful street. Far enough away from the action but close enough to walk to almost everything. We were even able to enjoy a cocktail with the nice lady across the street who was more than happy to share her front porch with us.
The apartment itself was nice with a newly remodeled kitchen and plenty of space to spread out. Reviewed on 2018-10-25 by Michael G. , Fairhope, AL United StatesOther than the first evening issues, the stay was acceptable. The unit was pretty much as expected. The bed was comfortable & there was plenty of space. The tub/shower could use an upgrade.
We enjoyed the Crystal Beer Parlor just around the corner. It was also nice to have the convenience of the DOT bus stops for free transportation. Savannah's Squares are beautiful and full of history.
We enjoyed our stay.
The rental was in a convenient and beautiful location. Unfortunately, when we arrived a Production Company was filming on the block where we were staying, therefore we could not park anywhere near then rental. It was an inconvenience, and not something rental company could control, but it would have been nice to have a heads-up. The rental was clean, but there were no bath towels, one hand towel and no toiletries. A call to housekeeping resolved the issue, but because we had left the unit to explore the city we were told we had to return & put the key back in the lockbox for housekeeping to bring our supplies. Once we were able to get back to the unit, we decided it was too late to venture back out. Forty-five minutes went by and we made a second call to customer service for our linen request. Housekeeping arrived in approx. 15 min.
Other than the first evening issues, the stay was acceptable. The unit was pretty much as expected. The bed was comfortable & there was plenty of space. Internet Basically Non-Existent
Reviewed on 2018-03-10 by , Sylva, NC United StatesThe Wi-Fi router they use must be ancient, or perhaps the people upstairs were using all the bandwidth. It seems that both apartments share a router and Internet account. When I enquired about this problem to Lucky, they said the wifi is very spotty in the historic district. She obviously had no clue as to how wi-fi and the Internet works when it is brought into a house. The owners need to get a separate internet account with a capable wi-fi/modem for each apartment.
The location is great, on West Jones St. Jones is one of the nicest historic streets in Savannah. The apartment is mostly nice, although it does smell very musty, overlaid with a touch of a Febreze like product. There is lots of room in the apartment, so no complaints there.
My only other comment would advise the owners that their hand painted, peeling bathtub is gross, and they should either replace it or have it professionally refinished. Oh, and the description says they have a Keurigthey dont. It is a regular coffeemaker.
If you are like most people nowadays, you take a short vacation, but you still need to work while the family sleeps in. If this is you, DO NOT rent this apartment. The Internet connection is basically not there. My laptop would connect for a minute, then down for 10 minutes. In my case, that meant logging in each time to my remote computer very frustrating.

The Wi-Fi router they use must be ancient, or perhaps the people upstairs were using all the bandwidth. While I found the property to be very nice in most aspects my only complaint was the lack of info on where we could find parking without meters (since there's no parking space). We were able to avoid getting a ticket, but it would have been nice to have a little insider scoop on where to park (we learned from a meter attendant that a couple blocks south there was unmetered parking). The property was overall clean, but the bathtub had obviously been painted because it was chipping pretty badly. However, these were very small inconveniences to deal with for a great property/location. We would have paid much more if we had stayed in a hotel, and would have had a lot less privacy & charm.

Cohen House Garden Apartment
Reviewed on 2017-07-23 by , Greenwood, IN United StatesWe were in town for a week and found the location to be perfect for our needs! I needed to be close to several SCAD buildings for an educators forum, and my husband and toddler were very close to Forsyth park to play! Long Weekend Stay
Reviewed on 2017-04-25 by Emily O. , New York, NY United StatesWe could have utilized the beautiful kitchen more - this would be a good place to stay for a family that wanted to cook. However, good to note that there are no grocery stores in the area.
Everything was pretty clean.
My only complaint (and this might be a huge complaint for some) was that the wifi didn't work. We called Lucky Savannah to complain about this and they told us they'd send someone, which they never did. If you need to work or need wifi - I'd recommend not staying here. I think the router was located in the main house above, so if I were the owner of this property I would install a router in the Garden Apartment as well. If I were looking to book and needed wifi - I wouldn't book unless this place had it's own router.
Overall, we were very satisfied and would recommend (to someone that didn't rely on wifi).

Great Location
Reviewed on 2017-02-21 by Lisa C. , Apalachicola, FL United StatesThe location was very nice and in a great neighborhood. The place was clean and spacious. The bed is very comfortable. The manager responded quickly to our issues with internet. It would be nice to have a radio to be able to listen to some music and not just the TV. It was a little dark because many of the light bulbs were out so this needs to be addressed. I didn't want to bother management about this. It would be nice to have some maps and some local menus and something to help people find their way around. Maybe some stationary of some sort to be able to write on something to take notes when making reservations or planning your day etc..We did enjoy the Crystal Beer Parlor right around the corner for a local brew and some food. Great little neighborhood restaurant. Savannah Coffee Roasters is also a great place to go and it's just down the street on W. Liberty.

This charming, one-bedroom, one bath ground level apartment is tucked away on Historic Jones Street. You’ll wake up each morning to walk the cobblestones of what Southern Living Magazine dubbed America’s prettiest street.
You’ll find plenty of comfortable seating in the den, including a small dining table and chairs. Enjoy a little “me time” curled up on the couch with a one of the provided books. The adjoining living room has more seating and a large flat screen TV. A large island countertop that doubles as a breakfast bar, opens and connects the living room into the galley style kitchen. When it’s time to get some shut-eye, get cozy in the comfortable Queen sized bed. The bedroom has plenty of storage space for longer stays, so unpack and relax on your private, enclosed porch. A second living room includes a Queen sleeper sofa, and can be closed to allow for 2 private sleeping rooms each separate from the Living Room.
Start your day of exploration at Clary’s Cafe, the setting for several breakfast scenes in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. You’ll be a short walk from the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, which underwent a major restoration to preserve their beautiful stained glass windows and architectural integrity. A few blocks away at the corner of Bull Street and Liberty, you’ll find local shops featuring everything from handmade handbags and leather goods at Satchel, to Celtic crosses at Saints & Shamrocks.
